BLEEKER STREET
I designed 'Bleeker Street' to be an oversized suit jacket and button-down shirt. To truly amplify the oversized aesthetic, I scaled the pattern pieces to twice their standard size. This garment features a top-left welt pocket and two flap welt pockets at the lower waist, a vent in both sleeves, a black lining, and two black buttons for seamless functionality.
The creation process unfolded through a series of steps: from initial inspiration sketches to in-depth research on suit jacket construction techniques, followed by the development of basic pattern pieces that was modified for a suit jacket. This garment involved modifications to the sleeve, lapels, collar, pockets, and overall sizing, resulting in a simple yet unique oversized suit jacket. Then the first prototype was created, where adjustments were made on a fit model to ensure comfort and fit. Lastly, the final garment was constructed and sewed.
